What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under 3 trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these 3 brand names, the business sells a number of mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Suitable for: People with more specific firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a combination of pressure relief and bounce Many online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. Likewise, similar to all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva also provides a generous 180-day trial period and easy returns.

The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, lowering how much movement is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva takes in somewhat more movement than the High-end Firm and Company choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and support from the Firm variation.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences below. We prepare to evaluate the new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may show valuable if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your needs change over time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These bed mattress were also assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the mattress market and in materials science; gone to lots of bed mattress factories, stores, and showrooms; and pored over the fine print on specs, warranties, and return policies.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. We do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and long lasting foams and coils.
