What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these 3 brand names, the business sells numerous bed mattress models, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Suitable for: People with more specific firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a mix of pressure relief and bounce Many online bed mattress are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring mattresses you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. Also, similar to all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also offers a generous 180-day trial duration and easy returns.

The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some motion, decreasing how much motion is felt across the surface area of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva takes in a little more motion than the Luxury Firm and Firm options.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the mattress will vary based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Luxurious Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and support from the Company version.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences below. We plan to check the brand-new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might prove helpful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, however it uses a supple cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; visited lots of mattress display rooms, stores, and factories; and read the fine print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spine assistance”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
