What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a great quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Coolsense Memory Foam Mattress Reviews
The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, minimizing how much motion is felt throughout the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs slightly more movement than the High-end Company and Firm alternatives.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partially on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Luxurious Soft variation of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.
Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences below. We plan to check the new version quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is inherently durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re unsure what you prefer or if your needs change gradually. This is not a conventionally cushy bed mattress, however it uses a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its innate toughness, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of professionals in the bed mattress market and in products science; gone to dozens of mattress factories, showrooms, and shops; and read the fine print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for numerous weeks.

Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. But we do know that the company utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and resilient foams and coils.
