What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a great quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Novosbed Vs Saatva
The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, lowering how much movement is felt across the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva soaks up slightly more motion than the Luxury Firm and Firm alternatives.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm variation.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We plan to evaluate the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is fundamentally durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove useful if you’re unsure what you prefer or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a traditionally soft mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its innate resilience, the Zenhaven ought to work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own home. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of specialists in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; gone to lots of bed mattress factories, showrooms, and shops; and pored over the fine print on specs, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
