What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Ideal for: Individuals with more specific firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a combination of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online bed mattress are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring mattresses you can conveniently purchase online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a great quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. Also, as with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva also provides a generous 180-day trial duration and easy returns.

The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than many hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some movement, minimizing how much movement is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva soaks up somewhat more motion than the High-end Firm and Company choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Company version.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences listed below. We plan to test the new variation quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might show valuable if you’re unsure what you choose or if your needs alter in time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its natural sturdiness, the Zenhaven needs to work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I have actually talked to scores of professionals in the bed mattress market and in products science; checked out lots of bed mattress display rooms, factories, and stores; and read the small print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column support”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and resilient foams and coils.
