What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these three brands, the company offers a number of mattress designs, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: People with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a mix of pressure relief and bounce Most online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It’s one of the few innerspring mattresses you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. Also, similar to all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also offers a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.
Considerations: Saatva Vs Ghost Bed
The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some movement, reducing how much movement is felt throughout the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva takes in a little more movement than the Luxury Company and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.
Keep in mind: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences listed below. We plan to test the brand-new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might show practical if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change in time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its innate sturdiness, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were likewise evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the mattress industry and in products science; visited dozens of mattress display rooms, factories, and stores; and pored over the fine print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for several weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. But we do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spine support”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
