What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Saatva Vs Original Mattress Factory
The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some motion, lowering how much motion is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs slightly more movement than the Luxury Company and Company options.
While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving capacity, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Luxurious Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences below. We plan to test the brand-new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently long lasting. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove handy if you’re uncertain what you prefer or if your needs alter in time. This is not a conventionally soft mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its innate resilience, the Zenhaven ought to work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of experts in the bed mattress market and in materials science; gone to dozens of mattress showrooms, stores, and factories; and pored over the great print on specs, service warranties, and return policies.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimal spine assistance”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and long lasting foams and coils.
