What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these three brand names, the business sells numerous mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: People with more specific firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a mix of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online bed mattress are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring mattresses you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial duration and simple returns.

The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, decreasing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva soaks up somewhat more motion than the Luxury Company and Company choices.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will vary based partly on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.
Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences listed below. We prepare to evaluate the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is intrinsically long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove helpful if you’re not exactly sure what you prefer or if your needs alter with time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its natural resilience, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were likewise evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited dozens of bed mattress factories, display rooms, and stores; and pored over the great print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.

Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).

Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid created for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. We do know that the company utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spine support”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and resilient foams and coils.
