What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Which Hotels Use Saatva Beds
The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam combined with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some motion, lowering how much motion is felt across the surface area of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva soaks up a little more motion than the High-end Company and Company options.
While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving capacity, the amount of pressure relief that a specific experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Plush Soft version of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm variation.
Keep in mind: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions listed below. We prepare to test the new version soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is fundamentally long lasting. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might show useful if you’re uncertain what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, however it provides a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness. Provided its inherent sturdiness, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own home. These bed mattress were likewise evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of experts in the bed mattress industry and in products science; visited lots of mattress stores, factories, and showrooms; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
